Every time I start a video call on msn my contacts see only black in my video window, why?

I have a Logitech webcam and when I start a video call I click on it and the two video windows appear .. contacts on my window, but I see in my black and I do not see the letters that say ManyCam know how to operate it, but nobody knows where to click to change webcam .. as if given an option to choose to use the webcam ..? Thanks!
